As the weather turns colder, our stomachs and taste buds begin to turn to something a little warmer: baked goods in our kitchens! One of the most well known, seasonal, and yummiest treats is gingerbread. Sandy Lee has to agree. In fact, she loves traditional German gingerbread known as Lebkuchen so much that she travelled countries well known for the gingerbread recipes and founded her own company, Leckerlee (a play on the German word ‘leckerli’ which means tasty little treat!), in the fall of 2011 in New York City, New York. Her little business provides the United States with a traditional German sweetie that isn’t usually available on this side of the “Big Pond”. For everyone who tries to be conscious about what they put into their body, there’s even more good news: Leckerlee uses no artificial preservatives in their goodies!
