We’ve got spirit! Yes, we do! We’ve got spirit! How about you? We hear about school spirit all throughout our educational career, but do we really know what it means? School spirit can be defined as emotional support for one’s educational institution. It’s about enjoying your school and being excited for it in all occasions. Basically it’s the outward expression of a positive attitude towards your school. Possessing it is a good reflection upon the school, which is why it is so often encouraged.
Finally, my last point, yet far from the least important. Think about why you attend the school you do. Reflect on why you like it. Perhaps you like its location, the athletic programs, or the academic standards. Or maybe it’s your family’s alma mater. Whatever your reason, you think it’s a good place to be. You cannot have school spirit without having a positive attitude towards your school. It’s why you wear and bear the school emblem and colors. It’s why you cheer at the ball games. It’s why you’re there.
To show the pride you have for your school, you don’t have act and sound like a crazy-looking frat kid if you don’t want to. Just have some fan gear, attend the games, and most importantly have a positive attitude your school. A great school deserves a great image, so represent yours everywhere you go and in everything you do!
