We fill our homes with things that make us feel content and fulfilled but are beautiful to look at. Kim Westad decided that her training as a graphic designer simply didn’t fulfill her need to create or to bring a feeling of contentment to others. In her search for something to make her life better, she stumbled upon a pottery class and fell in love. Here at the potter’s wheel was the sense of creativity and fulfillment that she had craved, and from that, burst a business. She left her job to create pottery and in May of 2004, she set up her own studio.
She has several collections of unique pieces: whirls, vases, ornaments, pendants, cups, mugs, and bowls. Each piece is beautiful, useable, and done completely by hand so as to ensure a unique product. Kim finds the fact that people enjoy not only enjoy looking at her work but actually putting it to work a joy in and of itself.
