This was another book I read a little while ago. Percy Jackson discovers he is the son of a human woman and a greek god, which would be awesome news to me!
But Percy’s demigod status is not necessarily a good thing. He joins a school for children of god / goddess heritage, and finds out that he is the one who has to save the world.
Somebody has stolen Zeus’s lighting bolt and pinned the blame on Percy! He and his friends then have the monumental task of finding out who the lightning thief really is, which proves much harder than Percy and his friends could have ever imagined.
As I read this a while ago, I can’t really remember the finer details, but I do remember thinking to myself how good this book really is. The characters are beautifully written, the mixture of real life and Percy’s life intertwine brilliantly, and I immediately went out and bought the other books in the series straight away. A must for fans of greek mythology and the hunger games. Just read it, please, you won’t be disappointed.
