The Proposal is another great short story by Lisa Shea!
Being a beta reader for Lisa, I get to see her new material on a consistent basis. She never disappoints me with her clean, fun, and often wonderful stories. This is the first in a new short story series from her and I liked it a lot. The main character, Ruth is smart and well rounded. Her beau is the same. I enjoyed getting lost in NYC for a short period of time while seeing how this would play out.
One of the best things about this book is that it is part of a cute series that speaks to the idea of love and feeling loved. Lisa ends the story with a proposal but it is not easy to get. You see the main character grow even in a short story like this. It makes the story relateable.
It is a bit predictable because of the title, and the endings are the same. This is not an issue considering each story is a stand alone entity despite being part of a series. I found this first story to be a great mix of heart and true to form love while not being overly sappy. I think Lisa could release more in this series and have great success for not just women, but men too.
